Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to establish the parameters for research projects involving human and animal subjects that comply with federal regulations, 45 CFR 46 (2012). Human subjects includes, but is not limited to, º£½ÇºÚÁÏ students, faculty, staff, or administrators. This policy applies to all research conducted at º£½ÇºÚÁÏ whether it be by an internal member or organization of the º£½ÇºÚÁÏ community or an outside individual, group, organization, or agency.

Scope

This policy applies to all employees and students of º£½ÇºÚÁÏ.

Policy Statement

It is the policy of the Kansas City Kansas Community College that all research projects which involve human or animal subjects shall be subject to review and approval by an appropriate º£½ÇºÚÁÏ Institutional Review Board (IRB) prior to project initiation and without respect to funding or the source of funding.
